Is the UK education system preparing young people for the challenges of tomorrow?
As the UK grapples with globalisation and competitiveness, we consider the role of the education system in helping to develop the skills and attitudes required for innovation. Has the system got the balance right between teaching soft and hard skills? Can the formal education system learn from what’s going on beyond the school gates?
Join us for the second of our interactive panel discussion series with panellists David Bell, Permanent Secretary, Department for Education and Skills, Richard Garner, Education Editor, the Independent, David Hargreaves, Associate Director, Specialist Schools Trust and Shaa Wasmund, CEO of Bright Station Ventures & Channel 4 Presenter. Jonathan Kestenbaum, Chief Executive of NESTA will chair.
Refreshments will be served from 5.30pm and discussions will start at 6.00-7.15pm
